Two Directions.
One Vision.

We've designed two distinct concepts for your new website — each one genuine, each one built around MCC's identity, just interpreted differently. Review both, compare them, and let us know which direction feels like home.

Concepts· 2 · Editorial Minimalist & Structural Modernism

Concept A

Editorial Minimalist

Light, airy, and intentional. Ultra-thin Fraunces display type, heavy negative space, and a single terracotta accent — the homepage pulls you into the deeper pages rather than saying everything at once.

Concept B

Structural Modernism

A grounded, architectural presence. Opens on heritage sage and lands on warm stone — earthy, confessional, cathedral-garden. Sturdy like the plains it stands on.

Concept Comparison

Attribute Concept A — Editorial Minimalist Concept B — Structural Modernism
Feeling Spacious, quiet, intentional — the hush before worship begins. Light and airy throughout. Grounded, architectural, confident — heritage sage opens the page and lands on warm stone. A confessional, cathedral-garden sturdiness.
Typography Fraunces Light (variable optical size, ultra-thin display) + Figtree body + JetBrains Mono labels — editorial weight contrast Besley slab serif (500–600, structural verticals) + DM Sans body + DM Mono all-caps labels — architectural rather than literary
Color Palette Warm paper cream #FAF7F2, ink charcoal #1C1917, single terracotta accent #C1553C — restrained by design Cool taupe/stone body #DED9C9, heritage sage hero #6B7455 / #525E42, sage-olive accent #6B7A5A — earthy, confessional, visually distinct from A
Hero Treatment Full-bleed paper hero, huge thin display type with staggered word reveal, italic terracotta accent word Heritage sage opening band — muted, cathedral-garden tone — with vertical mono index mark, then transitions to warm stone body. Different silhouette at every scroll position.
Layout Style Generous negative space, hairline rules, asymmetric editorial grid. Home minimises copy and routes visitors to sub-pages. Dense architectural grid with visible hairline columns, numbered section indexes, squared buttons, rule-separated rows. Information-forward.
Signature Details Variable-font opsz axis, staggered animation-delay reveals, paper grain overlay, italic accent words Expandable event rows with chevron toggles, duotone sage-tinted photography, vertical mono index marks, all-caps DM Mono micro-labels
Best for Visitors who respond to restraint and craft. Positions the church as thoughtful, confessional, and confident — letting the theology do the heavy lifting without visual shouting. Visitors who want a sturdy, grounded first impression — the sense of a congregation with deep roots and clear convictions. Content-dense without feeling cluttered.
Weakness Minimalism is unforgiving: photography, typography, and every line of copy must be pristine. Low-quality images or cluttered content will break the spell. The dense grid and saturated hero carry visual weight — requires good photography and disciplined tonal balance to keep the heritage sage from dominating the stone body below.
